Night Shift Worker

Position Overview

9 Mile Take Out is looking for a reliable and hardworking Night Shift Kitchen & Takeout Associate to join our team.

This position is focused on supporting our late-night operations, including kitchen cleaning, food preparation for the following day, and preparing and organizing late-night takeout and Uber Eats orders.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working later hours, and able to stay productive during quieter periods by completing cleaning and prep duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize late-night takeout and Uber Eats orders.
• Warm and prepare designated food items for late-night sales.
• Ensure food is properly packaged and ready for customers and delivery drivers.
• Monitor incoming Uber Eats orders and prepare them accurately and on time.
• Arrange and coordinate Uber Eats driver pickups.
• Confirm orders are complete before handing them to delivery drivers.
• Assist walk-in customers purchasing late-night takeout items.
• Keep designated late-night menu items stocked and available for sale.
• Monitor food levels and communicate low-stock items.
• Complete kitchen prep for the following day's service.
• Prepare ingredients, sides, sauces, vegetables, and other assigned items.
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate prepared food.
• Clean cooking and food-preparation areas throughout the shift.
• Wash dishes, utensils, containers, and kitchen equipment as required.
• Clean floors, counters, workstations, sinks, and other kitchen areas.
• Assist with garbage, recycling, and general closing duties.
• Ensure refrigerators, storage areas, and prep areas are clean and organized.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures.
• Ensure the kitchen is left clean, stocked, organized, and prepared for the next day's team.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, organized, and comfortable working independently when needed.

This position requires someone who understands that there may be quieter periods between late-night orders. During these periods, the expectation is to remain productive by completing kitchen prep, cleaning, restocking, and other assigned duties.

You will be an important part of ensuring both our late-night customers receive their orders quickly and our daytime kitchen team comes into a clean and prepared kitchen the following day.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, kitchen, takeout, or food-service experience preferred.
• Comfortable working evening and late-night hours.
• Able to prepare and warm food safely.
• Able to follow food preparation and portioning instructions.
• Comfortable handling Uber Eats and takeout orders.
• Strong attention to order accuracy.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation.
• Comfortable performing kitchen cleaning and closing duties.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to remain productive and organized during slower periods.

Pay: $19.09-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
