Night Supervisor, Brownsover Hall Hotel, Rugby

£14.21 per hour

Job Summary

Opened in December 2025, Brownsover Hall Hotel is a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian manor house set within eleven acres of landscaped gardens in Rugby. With 48 bedrooms, a popular brasserie, weddings, events, and exciting expansion plans underway, this is a fantastic time to join a growing hotel with real ambition.

We are part of Distinct Group Ltd, operating hotels and hospitality venues focused on service excellence, teamwork, and guest experience. We are proud members of the Hoteliers’ Charter, committed to fairness, inclusion, and employee wellbeing.

We are looking for a reliable, confident, and professional Night Supervisor to take responsibility for the smooth running of the hotel overnight. This is an important hands-on role, combining guest service, team supervision, security, and operational management to ensure our guests receive a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience throughout the night.

What you will be doing:

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hotel during night shifts, ensuring high standards of guest service, safety, security, and presentation are maintained at all times. As a key point of contact overnight, you will confidently handle guest enquiries, resolve any issues, and ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and efficient service.

You will oversee the Night Audit process, ensuring all relevant reports, financial procedures, and end-of-day tasks are completed accurately. You will also support late check-ins and early departures, provide bar service when required, and ensure a smooth handover between the evening, night, and morning teams.

As Night Supervisor, you will lead by example, supporting and supervising any team members working overnight, allocating tasks, and ensuring responsibilities are completed to the required standard. You will be confident making decisions independently and dealing calmly and professionally with any unexpected situations.

You will carry out regular walk-rounds of the hotel, ensuring the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and the property. This will include monitoring public areas, following health and safety procedures, responding to incidents, and ensuring any maintenance or security concerns are appropriately reported and addressed.

You will also oversee the cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of public areas, including entrances, hallways, and lounges, ensuring the hotel is ready to welcome guests the following morning.

As part of the role, you will support the preparation of function and event spaces, ensuring rooms are cleared, set up, and presented to the required standard. You will work closely with the wider management team to ensure operational priorities are communicated effectively and the hotel continues to run smoothly.

You will also be responsible for providing bar service to guests during night hours, ensuring drinks are prepared and served professionally and in accordance with licensing requirements and hotel standards. This will include handling room payments, maintaining a clean, tidy and well-stocked bar area, and ensuring responsible alcohol service at all times. You will help create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for guests while balancing bar service with your wider overnight responsibilities.

Most importantly, you will take ownership of the overnight guest experience, setting a positive example for the team and ensuring the high standards of hospitality expected at Brownsover Hall Hotel are consistently delivered.

What you will bring to the team:

You will ideally have previous experience in a hotel night role, supervisory position, or similar hospitality environment, with a good understanding of hotel operations and guest service standards.

You will be confident working independently, comfortable taking responsibility for the hotel overnight, and capable of making sensible decisions when management support may not be immediately available.

Strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a calm, practical approach to problem-solving are essential. You will be organised, dependable, and able to prioritise tasks while maintaining a professional and welcoming approach with guests and colleagues.

Experience with hotel reservation systems, Night Audit procedures, and cash handling would be advantageous, although training can be provided.

Most importantly, you will be a natural team player who leads by example, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and genuinely enjoys creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for every guest.
