At The Aberdeen Altens Hotel, we make sure our guests are looked after around the clock. While the rest of the hotel sleeps, our night team keeps everything running: welcoming late arrivals, keeping guests safe, ensuring meeting rooms are set up to standard, getting the hotel ready for the day ahead and assisting with check-outs. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Nights Supervisor to lead the hotel overnight and take on Duty Manager responsibilities during their shift.

Your Role

As Nights Supervisor, you'll be a duty manager on site overnight. You'll be responsible for guest service, safety and the smooth running of the hotel until the morning team arrives. It's a varied, hands-on role, and your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as Duty Manager overnight and taking responsibility for the hotel, its guests and its security
• Handling late check-ins, early check-outs and all front desk procedures
• Dealing with guest requests, complaints and emergencies calmly and professionally
• Completing the night audit, end-of-day reports and cash reconciliation accurately
• Helping with portering jobs, including luggage, deliveries and moving furniture or equipment around the hotel
• Helping with set-ups and clear-downs of meeting rooms, function spaces and the restaurant, ready for the next day's business
• Helping with cleaning duties in public areas, reception and back-of-house spaces
• Carrying out regular security patrols and fire safety checks
• Supervising and supporting the night team, and making sure tasks are completed to a high standard
• Handing over clearly to the morning team and other departments

What We're Looking For

We want someone reliable and proactive who is happy leading from the front and getting stuck in. You should be:

• Experienced in hotel reception, front office or night operations, ideally in a supervisory role
• Confident working on your own and making decisions without another manager on site
• Calm, professional and focused on solutions under pressure
• Happy to take on physical tasks such as portering, room set-ups and cleaning
• Organised, with excellent attention to detail, especially with figures and reports
• Comfortable using hotel systems and handling guest complaints
• A strong communicator who builds rapport with guests and colleagues
• Available to work night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays

Pay: Up to £13.71 per hour
