Experience: 0–3 years (Freshers with networking training / certification can apply; 1+ year in ISP / MSP / Telecom NOC preferred)
Salary: 15,000 – 30,000 per month (based on skills and experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent | Rotational shifts (24x7 NOC)

About the Client

Our client is a reputed, fast-growing Pune-based Internet Service Provider and Managed Service Provider (MSP / MSSP) with operations in India, USA and Singapore. It runs its own fiber network serving thousands of homes and businesses, and manages IT infrastructure for enterprise customers – Internet Leased Lines, SD-WAN, firewalls, servers, backup and cloud. The 24x7 NOC is the heart of the operation, and the team is growing.

The Role

As an L1 NOC Executive, you are the first line of defence for two businesses: the ISP network (FTTH broadband and leased line customers) and the managed services customers (enterprise networks, firewalls, servers and endpoints). You monitor 24x7, spot problems before customers do, fix first-level issues and escalate the rest quickly and correctly.

Key Responsibilities

A. ISP Network Operations

  • Monitor core, distribution and access network – OLTs, switches, routers, BNG / BRAS, upstream bandwidth and ILL links – on NMS tools (PRTG, Zabbix, LibreNMS, The Dude, OLT EMS or similar).
  • Track link status, latency, packet loss, bandwidth utilization and optical power levels (dBm) on PON ports and fiber links.
  • Detect outages, fiber cuts and device-down alarms in real time; raise incidents and coordinate with field / splicing teams until restoration.
  • Handle broadband complaints – no internet, slow speed, frequent disconnection, PPPoE / login issues, Wi-Fi problems; check ONT status, VLAN and PPPoE sessions and guide customers on call.
  • Activate new FTTH customers: ONT registration, VLAN and PPPoE / IPoE account creation on the RADIUS / billing system; handle plan changes, suspensions and reactivations.
  • First-level checks on ILL and SD-WAN customers – ping, traceroute, interface status, BGP / static route status – and escalate to L2 with clear logs.
  • Raise and follow up tickets with upstream bandwidth providers.

B. Managed Services (MSP) Operations

  • Monitor customer IT infrastructure – firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos, etc.), switches, Wi-Fi access points, servers, backups and endpoints – using RMM / monitoring tools.
  • Respond to alerts: device down, link failover, high CPU / memory / disk, backup failures, antivirus / endpoint alerts, certificate or license expiry.
  • Do L1 remote support for client users: connectivity issues, VPN access, email / Microsoft 365 basics, printer and desktop issues.
  • Run scheduled checks: backup job status, firewall / switch configuration backups, patch status reports.
  • Escalate to L2 / L3 engineers, OEMs or vendors as per SLA and keep the customer updated.

C. Incident, Ticket & Shift Management

  • Log, update and close every ticket in the ticketing system with root cause and resolution notes.
  • Follow SLAs and escalation matrix: L1 L2 L3 / OEM / upstream provider.
  • Maintain shift logs and give a clear shift handover – open incidents, pending escalations, planned maintenance.
  • Prepare daily / weekly uptime, outage and ticket reports; help build SOPs and the knowledge base.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Alarm-to-ticket time under 5 minutes for critical outages.
  • First-call resolution of 60%+ for L1 complaints.
  • 100% of tickets updated with correct status and root cause.
  • Zero missed escalations against customer SLAs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma / BE / B.Tech / BSc / BCA (IT, CS, E&TC, Electronics) or equivalent.
  • Freshers: networking certification or training (CCNA, MTCNA, N+ or equivalent) is a must.
  • Experienced: 1+ year in ISP / MSP / Telecom NOC or technical support.
  • Strong basics: OSI / TCP-IP, IP addressing and subnetting, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing basics.
  • Knowledge of FTTH / GPON (OLT, ONT, splitters, optical power) is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to MikroTik, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Fortinet, Sophos or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows / Linux, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and backup tools is a plus.
  • Good communication in Marathi, Hindi and English; polite and patient with customers on the phone.
  • Willing to work rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends and holidays (with weekly offs).

Salary & Benefits

  • Fixed salary: 15,000 – 30,000 per month

  • Freshers (certified / trained): 15,000 – 18,000

  • 1–2 years NOC experience: 18,000 – 24,000

  • 2–3 years ISP / MSP NOC experience: 24,000 – 30,000

  • Night shift allowance for every night shift.

  • Quarterly performance bonus linked to SLA, uptime and ticket-quality scores.

  • PF, ESIC (as applicable) and health coverage.
