Non-CDL Truck Driver/Material Handler

Delivery Drivers at Best Supply manage the safe and accurate delivery of materials from the warehouse to each job site location. They transport and unload orders according to customer specifications with the help of various delivery equipment, including truck-mounted forklifts and boom cranes.

Specific duties may include:

• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
• Pick-up and safely transport goods to the intended destination
• Working in cooperation with the Delivery Material Handler to determine where to set the materials and unloading them.
• Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
• Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
• Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document
• Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
• Comply with DOT regulations
• Providing superior customer service
• Double checking all loads for accuracy and ensuring that they are thoroughly secured for delivery
• Assisting with delivery of materials to customers or jobsites and delivery functions including unloading and staging of product at jobsites as assigned
• Performing all duties safely
• Position does not require over the road travel

Specific qualifications include:

• Valid Chauffeurs License
• The ability to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly (your most common cargo will be 70 pound bundles of shingles)
• Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
• Clean MVR history
• Drywall delivery experience is preferred
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and climb ladders throughout complete shift
• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to work on rooftops
• Positive attitude and team player
• Adhering to all safety policies, including wearing safety harness and other required equipment
