Non-Executive Director

Our client is a significant Queensland sporting and racing organisation responsible for the governance and strategic oversight of one of Australia's newest and most prominent sporting precincts in Ipswich. 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Non-Executive Director to join the Board and help shape the organisation's strategic direction, strengthen governance practices, enhance stakeholder confidence, and support its long-term success.

We are seeking an accomplished Board or executive leader with expertise in corporate governance, legal and regulatory compliance, strategic marketing, communications, public relations and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will provide independent oversight and strategic guidance across governance, organisational performance, reputation, stakeholder relationships and long-term sustainability.

As a member of the Board, you will contribute to strategic decision-making, support effective governance and risk management, oversee organisational performance, provide CEO oversight and succession planning input, and help strengthen engagement with members, government, industry, commercial partners and community stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Previous Board or senior executive leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in corporate governance, legal and regulatory compliance, risk management and organisational oversight.
• Experience in strategic marketing, brand positioning, communications, public relations or customer experience.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial and organisational performance.
• Demonstrated success building trusted relationships with government, industry, members, sponsors, commercial partners and community stakeholders.
• Experience within sporting organisations, racing, member-based organisations, licensed clubs, regulated industries or similarly complex environments will be highly regarded.
• A collaborative leadership style, sound judgement, and a commitment to integrity, accountability and best-practice governance.
