Our client is an accredited testing and inspection laboratory that provides non-destructive material evaluation and quality assurance services for industrial clients. They are expanding their NDT team and are looking for an NDT Inspection Engineer to join them.
This is a hands-on technical role. You’ll perform and evaluate non-destructive tests on a range of industrial components and structural assets, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards.
The successful candidate will hold valid ISO 9712 qualifications and have practical experience in non-destructive testing. They will be confident conducting inspections independently, evaluating material integrity, and producing technical inspection documentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Performing non-destructive inspections using core methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, or VT) on industrial components and structures
- Evaluating test results against applicable standards, technical regulations, and project specifications
- Preparing clear technical test reports and documentation for clients and auditing bodies
- Calibrating, setting up, and maintaining NDT testing equipment in line with quality procedures
- Interfacing with client technical teams and project managers to discuss inspection outcomes
- Supporting internal laboratory quality standards and participating in continuous improvement of test setups
- Visiting client facilities, manufacturing sites, and project locations as required (around 20% travel)
What they’re looking for:
- A degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification (e.g. Techniker or master craftsman background)
- Practical experience in non-destructive testing within a laboratory, manufacturing, or field environment
- Valid certification according to DIN EN ISO 9712 (Level II or Level III) in at least one core method (UT, MT, PT, RT, or VT)
- Experience across industrial product sectors (e.g. welds, castings, forgings, or tubes/pipes)
- Sound understanding of European testing standards (DIN EN ISO) and inspection codes
- Precise, methodical approach to testing and technical reporting
- Good German and English (spoken and written)
What’s on offer:
- Flexible working hours and 30 days’ annual leave
- Company pension scheme and corporate benefits
- Support and sponsorship for further NDT certifications and career advancement (e.g. Level III support)
- Long-term position with a stable, accredited employer
This will suit an engineer or qualified technician with ISO 9712 certification looking to apply their skills in a structured testing laboratory environment with clear professional development.
