NPD Engineer

Job Title: NPD Engineer (New Product Development)

Experience: 5–10 Years

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Job Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Job Responsibilities

• Lead new product development activities from concept stage to production launch.
• Study customer requirements, technical specifications and engineering drawings.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models and product designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo or other relevant CAD software.
• Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase and Tool Room departments.
• Develop prototypes and conduct product trials to validate design and functionality.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications and product documentation.
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers regarding technical requirements and design changes.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and cost analysis for new products.
• Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA and other quality documentation wherever applicable.
• Identify design improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure on-time product development and production launch.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during prototype development and initial production.
• Implement engineering changes and maintain drawing revision control.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable quality standards.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in new product development and product industrialisation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of GD&T, engineering tolerances and material selection.
• Understanding of CNC machining, fabrication, tooling or assembly processes, as relevant to the product.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and 8D problem-solving is preferred.
• Good project management, communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Expected salary: ₹35,000–₹45,000 per month.
• Salary negotiable based on technical expertise and previous experience.
• Additional benefits as per company policy.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
