Role Description

Reports To: Segment Head

Core Mandate

Deliver hit products (new launches, upgrades, refreshes) and responsible for entire product life cycle that meet volume and profitability targets while maintaining product sub segment competitiveness

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Planning

• Create rolling product plans based on customer insights, competition, and technology roadmap

• Define product specifications aligned with market needs and business objectives

• Drive product positioning and value proposition

  2. Market Intelligence

• Monitor industry trends in technology and regulations

• Understand customer needs, lifestyle trends, and latent requirements

• Continuously track competitor products and forecast future competition

• Translate market insights into actionable product features

  3. Cross-Functional Leadership

• Drive engineering changes with stakeholder alignment

• Coordinate across design, engineering, marketing, sourcing, and manufacturing

• Ensure seamless collaboration for product delivery

  4. Performance Accountability - QCD

• Own volume and profitability targets for assigned products

• Improve product competitiveness through continuous enhancement

• Monitor product performance post-launch and drive corrective actions

  5. Program Governance

• Oversee multiple projects within the program with on time delivery accountability

• Ensure strategic alignment and resource optimization

• Guide Project Managers on prioritization and execution

  Key Performance Indicators

• Sales Volume achievement - NPD projects for particular year (shared resp)

• Time-to-market adherence

• Quality metrics - product satisfaction APEAL & IQS;

• Modularity % by QTY or % by value; Commonisation in %
