3-6 years in Quality / NPD Quality in heavy automotive components manufacturing.

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Metallurgy
• Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile with relevant experience can also be considered.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. New Product Quality Planning

• Handle quality activities from new product development to production launch.

• Review customer drawings, specifications, standards and quality requirements.

• Prepare and maintain APQP, PPAP and NPD quality documents. 2.APQP / PPAP

• Prepare and coordinate APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram and Inspection Standards.

• Coordinate with Production, NPD, Tooling, Process Engineering and Customer Quality teams.

• Ensure timely submission and approval of PPAP documents. 3.Drawing & Specification

• Understand automotive component drawings, GD&T, dimensional tolerances and material specifications.

• Review critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics and ensure proper inspection methods.

• 4 .Process & Product Quality

• Monitor quality during prototype, trial and pre-production stages.

• Conduct first-off / sample inspection and validate product/process parameters.

• Identify potential quality issues during new product development and implement preventive actions.

• 5.Inspection & Measurement

• Coordinate dimensional inspection using CMM, Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge and other measuring instruments.

• Review inspection reports and ensure measurement system suitability.

• 6.Problem Solving

• Analyse internal and customer quality issues using Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D and CAPA.

• Implement corrective and preventive actions and monitor effectiveness.

• 7.Customer Coordination

• Coordinate with customers regarding NPD quality requirements, inspection reports, PPAP submissions and quality concerns.

• Support customer audits and product/process approval activities.

• 8.Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers for new component development, raw material quality and process-related issues.

• Work closely with Purchase, Supplier Quality, Production, Tooling and Engineering teams.

• 9.Documentation & Systems

• Maintain NPD quality records, inspection reports, deviation approvals and PPAP documents.

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements (CSR).
