NPD Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented NPD (New Product Development) Technologist to join our innovative food production team. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new food products from concept through to production launch, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
• Conduct laboratory testing and sensory evaluations to refine product formulations, ensuring optimal taste, texture, and appearance.
• Apply HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles to identify potential food safety risks and implement effective control measures throughout the development process.
• Maintain detailed documentation of product development stages, including recipes, process parameters, and quality control records.
• Support production teams by troubleshooting mechanical issues related to equipment used in product manufacturing, leveraging mechanical knowledge to optimize processes.
• Utilize basic math skills for recipe scaling, ingredient calculations, and quality assessments to ensure consistency across batches.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations and company standards for quality assurance.

Experience

• Proven experience in food product development or a related role within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of HACCP protocols and food safety regulations applicable to commercial food production.
• Mechanical knowledge related to processing equipment used in food manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with food production processes, including ingredient handling, mixing, cooking, and packaging.
• Basic math skills for recipe formulation, scaling ingredients, and quality measurements.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
