NPI & Costing Engineer

About the role

New Product Introduction Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining cost models, designing parts using 2D/3D CAD, and ensuring optimal cost and delivery timelines. The role involves evaluating equipment, implementing improvements, managing tooling and First Article support, and maintaining product information in enterprise systems while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost models for parts
• Liaise with sales and customers to layout and design parts on 2D/3D CAD and to ensure parts at best cost and delivery
• Evaluate and select equipment/machinery with emphasis on reliability and service ability of equipment
• Recommend, develop and implement equipment improvements to increase reliability, improve quality and output from equipment
• Source for tooling, run and manage the paper work for support First Article
• Review operations and business processes for productivity improvement
• Manage and update new product information in SAP, SMS
• Create and input BOM & Routing
• Comply with quality standard ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO13485 requirement

About you

• More than 3 years experience in New Product Introduction Engineer from electronic manufacturing, stamping and die cut or medical device manufacturing
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Able to use 2D & 3D CAD and Microsoft Office
• Good command in English
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of ISO9001 & ISO14001
• Knowledge in ERP as IFS, SAP, etc
• Have knowledge in quality control and production techniques, equipment, tooling and process
• Working experience in HDD industry or Medical Device is an added advantage
