NPI Engineer (Electronics Manufacturing)

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

• Develop NPI project plans, define key milestones and monitor readiness for pilot builds and mass production.

• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) considerations during product development.

• Establish manufacturing processes, work instructions and process parameters for new products.

• Coordinate engineering builds, pilot runs and process validation activities.

• Troubleshoot technical and quality issues during engineering builds and pre-production stages.

• Work closely with Process Engineering teams to validate new equipment, jigs and fixtures.

• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including:

  • Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Process Manufacturing Plan (PMP)
  • PFMEA
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

• Manage Engineering Change Notice (ECN) / Manufacturing Document changes and ensure proper implementation in ERP systems.

• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure component and material readiness.

• Support product qualification, reliability testing and First Article Inspection (FAI).

• Ensure new products meet customer requirements, quality standards and regulatory requirements.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for pre-launch issues.

• Drive continuous improvement activities to improve product yield, cycle time and manufacturability.

• Support automation and process enhancement initiatives to improve production efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering or process engineering.

• Hands-on experience in:

  • BOM structure and product BOM release
  • Engineering Change Notice (ECN)
  • Manufacturing Document Release (MDR)
  • New product transfer into production

• Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, preferably:

  • Cable assembly
  • Box-build assembly

• Good understanding of manufacturing quality tools:

  • DFM / DFA
  • PFMEA
  • 8D Problem Solving
  • Root Cause Analysis

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.

• Experience with ERP systems and engineering/design tools such as AutoCAD will be advantageous.

• Strong project management, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
