About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join the team at Dr Farid Medical Clinic in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives within a general medical and surgical setting. As a Nurse, you will be at the heart of patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality clinical services. This role is essential to our clinic's mission of providing accessible, professional healthcare to our community.

Key responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care including assessment, monitoring and documentation of vital signs and patient health status
• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
• Preparing patients for examinations and procedures, including surgical preparations
• Supporting surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures and minor operations
• Maintaining accurate and timely medical records and patient documentation
• Responding to patient calls and concerns with professionalism and empathy
• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic clinical environment in compliance with infection control standards
• Educating patients about their health conditions, treatment plans and post-operative care
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and positive patient outcomes

What we're looking for

• Valid nursing qualification and registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body in Malaysia
• Proven experience in general medical and surgical nursing settings
• Strong clinical nursing skills including patient assessment, medication administration and wound care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to build rapport with diverse patients
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
• Physical stamina and ability to perform standing, lifting and other demands of the nursing role
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
• Compassion, patience and genuine commitment to patient care and wellbeing
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing clinical priorities
• Desirable: Experience in a private clinic or outpatient setting
