JOB DESCRIPTION NURSE

Position Details

Job Purpose

To provide nursing care and clinical support to patients, assist doctors, maintain patient safety and support smooth clinical operations at the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, record vitals and provide nursing care as directed by the doctor.
• Assist doctors during consultations, procedures and patient management.
• Administer prescribed medicines/treatments and monitor patient response as per clinical instructions.
• Support sample collection, diagnostic procedures, referrals and other clinical requirements.
• Identify and escalate abnormal findings, deterioration, emergencies and patient safety concerns promptly.
• Provide first aid and support emergency management as per approved protocols.
• Maintain nursing notes, patient records, medication records and required digital/system entries.
• Ensure availability and proper use of nursing equipment, medicines and clinical consumables.
• Monitor infection control, hygiene, biomedical waste disposal and clinical safety practices.
• Support patient movement, admission/discharge activities and handover to relevant teams where required.
• Maintain readiness of the clinical area and report equipment, stock or facility issues.
• Participate in audits, training, SOP implementation and other clinical quality activities.

Qualification & Experience

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing with valid registration.
• Relevant experience in hospital, clinic, healthcare or nursing services preferred.
