NURSE MANAGER

A Nurse Manager is in charge of overseeing a team of nurses while providing healthcare services to patients and manage their records. Duties include training, scheduling and mentoring nursing staff  and overseeing patient care.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Nursing
• Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board with a valid Annual Practicing License (APC)
• Able to cannulate patient
• Able to take blood sample
• Posses good communication and interpersonal skill
• Able to effectively manage a team and department
• Good Organizational skills
• Able to groom and develop young talents

Responsibilities:

• Create goals and objectives for their department or facility and make sure they are met by staff
• Communicate with staff and department heads.
• Keep and organize records of the facility.
• Recruit and train nurses and other health professionals
• Manage work schedules for nurses.
• Ensure the facility they work in is compliant with current laws
• Improve the quality and efficiency of the level of care delivered to patients
• Solve any problems patients might have at the facility
• Fulfil administrative and practical duties for the nurse manager.
• Knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
• Ensure all nurses follow policies and procedures.
• Train new team members
• Provide supplementary care to patients as needed.
• Evaluate nurses’ performance.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patients.
• Handle complaints or other issues
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing psychological support to patients, family and friends.
• Maintain records of nurses’ files, patients’ cases, and procedures.
