Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs, to determine health status and identify medical issues.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
• Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile processing when necessary.
• Manage acute pain, infectious diseases, and chronic conditions across various specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and internal medicine.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and patient record management.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to healthcare services for diverse patient populations.

Requirements

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently or under collaborative agreements.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those in assisted living or nursing home settings.
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth platforms is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills including physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration, and specimen collection/processing.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and DEA regulations for prescribing controlled substances.
• Critical care experience such as ICU or emergency medicine is highly desirable; familiarity with Level I/II trauma centers is a plus.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health coaching, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
• Additional skills in areas like dermatology (dermal fillers), esthetic laser treatments, gastroscopy procedures (spinal tap), or cardiology (cardiac catheterization) are advantageous.
