Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical histories to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, spinal taps, and dermal fillers with precision and adherence to sterile techniques.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties including gastroenterology, geriatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, and pain management.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation, order entry, and patient data management while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, case management, and utilization review.
• Engage in telehealth consultations to extend access to quality care remotely while maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with current certification from an accredited body such as ANCC or AANP.
• Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU or trauma centers (Level I or II trauma experience preferred).
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; experience with medical documentation and coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) is essential.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology (including drug enforcement regulations), and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Skilled in performing procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques for injections and catheter care.
• Experience working with special populations such as pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), hospice & palliative medicine or assisted living residents is highly valued.
• Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
