Role Description The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care in an urgent care setting, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses and minor injuries for patients of varying ages. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. The role involves collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused care, while documenting all encounters accurately in the electronic medical record. The Nurse Practitioner will educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care, and may assist with procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Cape Girardeau, MO, requiring consistent presence during scheduled clinic hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Missouri and national certification (e.g., FNP, AGNP, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated clinical skills in urgent care, primary care, or emergency medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of common acute conditions.
• Strong patient communication and education abilities, with a focus on compassionate, culturally sensitive care.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, documentation standards, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple patients, and collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS certification preferred.
• Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; prior urgent care or emergency department experience is highly beneficial.
• Commitment to quality improvement, infection control practices, and adherence to all clinical and regulatory guidelines.
