We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Mental Wellness team, with a primary focus on IV ketamine therapy and infusion services.

The Role

This is a part-time, on-site clinical position for an NP who is comfortable working independently within established clinical protocols and collaborating with our medical team.

The NP will be responsible for the clinical oversight and administration of IV ketamine treatments, including patient assessment, treatment-day evaluation, IV administration, monitoring, documentation, and management of patient safety throughout treatment.

This role is expected to begin at approximately 5–15 hours per week, with the opportunity for hours to increase as our Mental Wellness program grows.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site care for patients receiving IV ketamine therapy
• Perform appropriate pre-treatment assessments and confirm patient readiness for treatment
• Administer IV ketamine
• Initiate and manage IV access and infusion therapy
• Monitor patients throughout treatment and recovery
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient response, adverse effects, and treatment outcomes
• Recognize and appropriately respond to changes in patient condition or potential complications
• Provide patient education before and after treatment
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Follow medication management, emergency response, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and the broader Modern Wellness team
• Support other IV therapy services as needed
• Help create a safe, calm, professional, and supportive experience for mental wellness patients
• Medical Orders

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Nurse Practitioner/APRN license in good standing
• Appropriate prescriptive authority/controlled-substance credentials
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred
• IV placement and infusion experience
• Experience with ketamine therapy, anesthesia, emergency medicine, critical care, psychiatry, infusion medicine, or a related field.
• Comfortable monitoring patients receiving IV medications and recognizing/responding to adverse reactions
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to patient safety
• Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a growing, multidisciplinary wellness environment

Schedule

Part-Time: Approximately 5–15 hours per week

We are looking for someone with flexibility as the program grows. Hours may increase based on patient volume and scheduling.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who is genuinely interested in mental wellness and emerging treatment approaches, but who also understands the importance of evidence-based medicine, patient screening, clinical protocols, documentation, and safety.

We are looking for an NP who can make patients feel comfortable and supported while maintaining a very high standard of clinical care.

Work Location: In person

Pay: $65.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.0 – 10.0 per week
