What they need
Typical Pulmonary PA ResponsibilitiesOutpatient Clinic Duties
- Evaluate patients with:
- COPD
- Asthma
- Chronic cough
- Shortness of breath
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Sleep apnea
- Lung nodules
- Perform history & physical exams
- Order and interpret:
- Chest X-rays
- CT scans
- Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)
- Sleep studies
- Labs
- Develop treatment plans
- Prescribe medications:
- Inhalers
- Steroids
- Antibiotics
- Nebulizers
- CPAP/BiPAP therapy
- Follow chronic pulmonary patients longitudinally
- Educate patients on smoking cessation and inhaler use
Sleep Medicine Responsibilities
If the practice includes sleep medicine:
- Evaluate snoring, insomnia, hypersomnia, and sleep apnea
- Review sleep study results
- Manage CPAP compliance
- Adjust pressure settings with DME companies
- Complete insurance documentation for PAP therapy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
