Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs, to determine health status and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens in compliance with state and federal regulations, including DEA guidelines for controlled substances.
• Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records management.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care for remote or underserved populations.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, medical imaging, and specimen collection/processing techniques.
• Engage in clinical research initiatives to stay current with medical advancements and contribute to evidence-based practice improvements.
• Support specialized care areas such as gastroenterology, critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, occupational health, or pediatric care based on experience.
• Participate in discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure safe and effective patient transitions across care settings.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (including Level I & II trauma centers), emergency rooms, ICU/CCU units, outpatient clinics or urgent care centers.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry.
• Hands-on experience performing advanced procedures like suturing, IV infusion/insertion, catheterization, spinal taps or dermal fillers is highly desirable.
• Background in acute care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine with exposure to trauma or infectious disease management preferred.
• Familiarity with medical coding systems including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding practices for accurate billing and documentation.
• Experience working with special populations such as pediatrics—including toddler and neonatal care—geriatrics or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
• Knowledge of telehealth platforms to deliver remote patient consultations effectively.
• Strong understanding of anatomy physiology principles coupled with excellent client communication skills to provide clear education on treatment plans and health coaching strategies.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
