Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adult populations.
• Prescribe medications and manage drug therapies in compliance with DEA regulations and clinical guidelines.
• Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections while maintaining sterile technique.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists (e.g., gastroenterology, infectious disease), nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Manage acute pain cases, perform triage in urgent care or emergency room settings, and provide telehealth consultations when appropriate.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current state licensure.
• Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU/critical care, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with Athenahealth is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Experience performing advanced procedures such as ultrasound sonography or pulmonary function testing is desirable.
• Critical care experience (ICU or Level I/II trauma center), along with familiarity in acute pain management and infectious disease care.
• Ability to handle complex cases involving geriatrics (memory/dementia care), pediatric patients (toddler/neonatal care), or individuals with disabilities.
• Excellent client communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to health coaching and patient education.
