SMC-IFSI is engaged in the management, operation, and maintenance of farms, hatcheries, slaughterhouses, fishpond, storage and various facilities and equipment for breeding, hatching, raising, growing, production, slaughter and / or processing of poultry. Fowls, hogs, livestock and other kinds of animals and foodstuffs and other activities allied or incidental thereto such as but not limited to animal feeds, nutrition, and healthcare.

Job Summary

The Safety Nurse Supervisor is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace for employees. The role combines occupational health and nursing responsibilities with workplace safety management, including hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency response, safety inspections, accident investigation, employee training, and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and government regulations.

The Safety Nurse Supervisor will also serve as an adviser on health and safety matters and work closely with management, employees, the Health and Safety Committee, and government agencies to ensure the effective implementation of the company's safety and health programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or any related course
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the food industry
• Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledgeable in First Aid and Emergency Response
• Knowledgeable in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards
• Familiarity with Corporate Environmental, Safety and Health policies
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and workplace safety practices
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong leadership, coordination, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

Occupational Health & Safety Management

• Assist, advise, and guide management and employees in conducting risk assessments and developing effective health and safety programs.
• Direct and monitor accident prevention efforts in accordance with company safety programs, safety performance objectives, and applicable government regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace safety and health inspections and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Review safety inspection reports, accident investigation reports, and the implementation of safety and health programs.
• Provide guidance and recommendations on matters concerning occupational health and workplace safety.

Safety Compliance & Government Coordination

• Ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and government requirements.
• Prepare and submit required reports on OSH meetings, activities, and safety performance to the appropriate government authorities.
• Coordinate and assist authorized government agencies during safety and health inspections, accident investigations, and other related activities.
• Attend regular Health and Safety Committee meetings and scheduled safety inspections.

Accident Prevention & Investigation

• Develop and implement accident prevention programs to minimize workplace incidents.
• Investigate workplace accidents and incidents as a member of the Health and Safety Committee.
• Prepare accident investigation reports, including findings, analysis, and recommended corrective actions.
• Maintain or assist in maintaining an effective accident and incident record system.
• Coordinate with supervisors and concerned departments to identify and eliminate causes of accidents.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

• Help develop, maintain, and implement the company's disaster and emergency contingency plans.
• Organize and support emergency response teams and related emergency preparedness activities.
• Provide or coordinate first aid and emergency response when necessary.
• Conduct and facilitate emergency preparedness and response training for employees.

Training & Employee Safety Programs

• Initiate, coordinate, and supervise health and safety training programs for employees and management.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox meetings as required.
• Promote awareness of workplace health, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor employee and management participation in safety programs and recommend improvements.

Safety Program Monitoring & Reporting

• Conduct at least monthly appraisals of the company's safety programs and overall safety performance, including the activities of the Health and Safety Committee.
• Prepare periodic reports outlining safety and health activities, accomplishments, incidents, and safety performance.
• Establish and maintain written administrative policies and procedures related to workplace safety and health.
• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of established safety policies and programs.
