Nursery Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team.

Hours will be 8-12:45 every Wednesday at our Cylch in Ysgol Bodfeurig, and cover if and when needed throughout the week.

In addition, 5 days a week at the After school club in Tregarth, 3-5:30/6.

In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. Your enthusiasm will help foster their development, ensuring they feel valued and supported every day. Duties

• Support the daily routines of children, including playtime, meals and learning activities
• Assist in creating engaging and age-appropriate educational activities that promote development
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to provide updates on progress and needs
• Support management in implementing policies related to child safety, health, and hygiene standards
• Help supervise outdoor play areas and ensure children are active and engaged in safe activities
• Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating leadership qualities and managing responsibilities efficiently

Experience

• Previous experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is desirable
• Strong communication skills in Welsh for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues
• Valid driving license
• Experience in childcare roles that involve managing groups of young children is advantageous
• Level 2 in childacre/Playwork, or willingness to work towards.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
