Nursery Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of the nursery and ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.

Duties

• Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote children's development.
• Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Support children in their daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive nursery environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery space, ensuring it is welcoming and safe for all children.
• Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using appropriate techniques to encourage good conduct.
• Collaborate with senior staff to assess children's progress and contribute to their individual learning plans.

Skills

• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while working as part of a team.
• Competence in managing multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
• A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development.
• A valid driving licence may be beneficial for transporting materials or attending off-site activities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£13.71 per hour

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (required)
• Applicants must hold minimum qualification NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or equivalent.

Experience:

1 year previous paid experience working with children preferably within a childcare setting.

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (preferred)
