Nursery Assistant

Oak Lee Montessori is a well-established childcare setting located in the heart of Pinner, offering high-quality Montessori education and care for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Assistant or an individual actively working towards a Level 2 Childcare qualification, to join our dedicated and professional team.

This is a Full-time position of 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm or 4 days a week 08:00am to 6:00pm and includes a one-hour paid lunch break. Or a Part-time position of 30 hours per week. Working hours Monday to Friday 12:00pm to 6:00pm. Must be available to attend staff meetings on Wednesday's. Oak Lee Montessori School is conveniently accessible via public transport.

Role

As a nursery assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the care, development and education of young children aged 0-5 years, working closely with qualified childcare professionals. In your role you will work as part of a team to maintain a stimulating, safe and healthy environment for the children in our care.

• Engage the children in creative, sensory and educational activities to stimulate their cognitive, social and physical development.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Assist with feeding, changing nappies/clothes whilst maintaining personal hygiene routines.
• Collaborate with other nursery staff members to plan and co-ordinate activities and routines.
• Engage the children in creative, sensory and educational activities to stimulate their cognitive, social and physical development.
• Monitoring and observing children's behaviour, progress, development and documenting their achievements.

What we’re looking for

Previous experience working in an early years setting (essential)

Knowledge of the Montessori framework (desirable)

Knowledge of the EYFS (essential)

Previous experience working within a Montessori environment (desirable)

Full and relevant Level 2 (desirable)
