Job Summary

Duties

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks suitable for young children, following approved menus and dietary requirements
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen at all times
• Assist with meal planning and portioning to ensure balanced nutrition for each child
• Serve meals in a friendly, engaging manner that encourages positive eating habits
• Monitor food storage areas to prevent spoilage and ensure proper inventory management
• Follow all health regulations and safety protocols during food preparation and service
• Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies

Experience

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a childcare or educational setting
• Knowledge of kitchen safety procedures and food safety standards
• Experience with meal preparation for children or in a restaurant environment is highly desirable
• Familiarity with culinary techniques that promote healthy eating habits
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Previous experience serving or interacting with children is a plus but not required
