Nursery Cook

We are looking for a Nursery Cook to join our team at Little Rainbows Nursery!

The candidate must be able to demonstrate flexibility, able to work independently and understand the nutritional needs of children. They need to have good organisation skills, good communication, as well as high standard of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and appearance.

Job details

· 10 hours over 5 Days a week Monday – Friday 10:45am-12:45pm.
· An ability to organise a fortnightly menu and to prepare an online monthly shop to a budget.
· The right candidate ideally will be up to date with all environmental health guidelines and have awareness of allergies and allergens. However you will be will complete training and will hold a L 2 or 3 Food Safety qualification.
· You will require an enhanced DBS check to be carried out by the nursery

Experience/Qualifications

Our ideal candidate would need to have a Level 2 Hygiene qualification and have previously worked in a food preparation setting or similar. However full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities

The cook needs to organise, prepare, and cook a healthy, balanced diet for children in accordance with the nursery menus. The Cook will take into daily consideration those children who have special dietary requirements and prepare a suitable alternative. They will also be responsible for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen by ensuring high standards of hygiene and that health and safety is always maintained in the kitchen.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
