At Little Diamonds Ltd, mealtimes are an important part of every child’s day. We are looking for a passionate, reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Cook/Chef who takes pride in creating fresh, healthy and nutritious food that supports young children’s growth, development and enjoyment of eating well.

In this rewarding role, you will have ownership of meal preparation while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness. You will work closely with our nursery team to make sure every child’s dietary needs are understood and met.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and balanced meals that children can enjoy.
• Safely cater for food allergies, intolerances and other special dietary requirements.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards at all times.
• Store, prepare and serve food safely.
• Monitor supplies, manage stock effectively and minimise food waste.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas clean, safe and organised.
• Maintain accurate food-safety, cleaning and temperature records.
• Work closely with the nursery team to ensure every child’s dietary requirements are met.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience as a cook or chef is essential; experience in a nursery or school kitchen is desirable.
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene and safe food-preparation practices.
• An understanding of children’s nutrition and healthy eating.
• Confidence following recipes, planning menus and managing kitchen tasks independently.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A caring, positive and professional approach.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, or equivalent.

Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
• 35 hours per week

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
