Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Nursery Playworker to join our team! In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by creating a safe and stimulating environment. The contract is based on 10 hours per week TERM TIME. Hours 11am-1.00 pm Mon-Fri along with cover available throughout the year.

Duties

• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and social development
• Support children's emotional well-being by providing comfort, encouragement, and positive reinforcement
• Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, naps, and outdoor play
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement educational activities aligned with early childhood education principles
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and conducting regular safety checks
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about children's progress and daily experiences
• Support management in maintaining accurate records of children's attendance and developmental milestones

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
• This role will predominantly involve taking children to and from school so a full, clean driving licence is essential.
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and parents
• Knowledge of early childhood education practices and child development principles
• Ability to work flexibly within extended nursery hours
• Childcare Level 2/3 qualification essential
