Nursery Practitioner – Join Our Team

Are you an enthusiastic and caring Nursery Practitioner looking for a nursery where you can grow your career, feel valued and make a genuine difference to children's lives?

At Child First Nursery in Bicester, we believe that children thrive when they are surrounded by caring, passionate and dedicated adults. We are looking for an exceptional Nursery Practitioner to join our growing team and help us create positive experiences and lasting memories for the children in our care.

Why Child First Nursery?

We want every child who walks through our doors to feel safe, loved, valued and inspired to explore the world around them.

The opportunity

As part of our nursery team, you will help create an exciting and engaging environment where children can learn through play, develop new skills and build confidence.

You will work alongside colleagues to provide high-quality experiences throughout the day, while responding to each child's individual interests and developmental needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to prepare and organise your room each day.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities.
  • Encouraging children's learning and development through play and everyday experiences.
  • Creating positive relationships with children and responding sensitively to their needs.
  • Supporting indoor and outdoor learning and play.
  • Assisting with mealtimes, snacks and daily routines.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and stimulating environment.
  • Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality care.
  • Building positive relationships with parents and sharing information about their child's day and development.
  • Contributing to observations, planning and children's individual learning journeys.

Your development matters to us

We don't just want you to work for us — we want you to build your career with us.

Whether you are looking to strengthen your existing experience or take the next step in your early years career, you will receive a comprehensive induction and access to ongoing training and development.

We are committed to investing in our team and creating a workplace where practitioners are supported, encouraged and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

What you'll receive

Alongside an industry-leading salary, we offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including:

  • 60% discount on childcare for your children attending our nursery.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Free breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks while working.
  • Company events and team activities.
  • Employee discount scheme.
  • Employee referral scheme.
  • Up to £1,500 for successfully introducing a friend to the team.
  • Paid time to attend parent and staff meetings.
  • A paid day off for your birthday.
  • Bank holidays off.
  • Free and on-site parking.
  • Full-time employment of 41.25 hours per week, with the choice of five 9-hour days or four 10-hour days plus a half day.
  • Part-time opportunities may also be available.
  • Bereavement leave.

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of the children in our care is our highest priority. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we are committed to maintaining rigorous safer recruitment procedures.

Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, join the DBS Update Service and undergo our full pre-employment screening process, including satisfactory references covering the previous five years.

Could you be the practitioner we're looking for?

If you are kind, enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about early years, and you want to work somewhere that genuinely values both its children and its staff, we'd love to hear from you.

Come and join Child First Nursery Bicester and become part of a team dedicated to helping children learn, flourish and reach their full potential.
