What they need

At Seasons, we care about children from the ground up. We follow children's interests, scaffold learning through meaningful experiences, and plan in the moment to create exceptional early years provision.

We believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, connection, nature, exploration, and joy.

Do you love child-centred play, animals, and the outdoors? Are you passionate about open-ended learning and nature-based experiences? Do you want to be part of a setting that thinks differently and challenges the norms of traditional nursery practice?

At Seasons, we are reflective, nurturing, ambitious, and professional. Our team is small, supportive, and passionate about creating meaningful experiences for children. We care deeply about what we do and recognise the privilege and responsibility of caring for little lives.

We're recruiting across both of our settings, based five minutes apart in Chichester, our nursery at Aldingbourne Country Centre, and our nursery at Great Ballard School, set within 30 acres of South Downs National Park countryside. Let us know if you have a preference, or if you're happy to be considered for either.

Come and Play

We are looking for a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our growing team. This is a varied indoor and outdoor role, working across outdoor spaces, woodland and forest school areas, gardens, and warm, calm indoor spaces for rest, connection and smaller group experiences, particularly for our younger children. The wider environment encourages adventure, exploration, risk taking, and child-led learning outdoors.

At Aldingbourne, this includes access to private nursery gardens, woodland areas, farm experiences and outdoor play spaces. At Great Ballard, staff also work across a dedicated forest school area, established woodland, and the wider school grounds, all shaped by our Montessori-inspired, child-led philosophy.

Your Day to Day

  • Acting as key person for a group of children, getting to know them and their families deeply
  • Planning and delivering child-initiated and adult-led activities rooted in each child's interests
  • Supporting children's learning and development across all areas of the EYFS
  • Observing, documenting and celebrating children's progress through learning journals
  • Contributing to our outdoor learning provision and making the most of our environment
  • Working warmly and professionally with parents and carers as partners in their child's learning
  • Upholding safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies at all times

You Will Bring

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years
  • A genuine love of working with young children and a child-led approach to practice
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor, nature-based and Montessori-inspired learning
  • Warmth, patience and strong relationship-building skills
  • A reflective approach and a willingness to learn and grow
  • A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in an early years setting

What You Can Expect From Us

  • £13.00 to £15.50 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications
  • 28 days annual leave
  • Workplace pension (NEST)
  • Paid overtime or time off in lieu (TOIL)
  • Supportive induction and onboarding process
  • Ongoing training and CPD throughout your career at Seasons
  • Regular 1:1s with your manager every 6 weeks
  • Clear progression pathways as Seasons continues to grow
  • Paid annual Christmas team celebration day
  • A kind, inclusive and genuinely supportive team culture
