At Chipmunks Nursery OSC Ltd, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, happy, included and valued. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioner with SEND experience to join our team and help every child flourish.

About the Role

We are looking for a practitioner who understands that every child is unique and that some children need a little extra support to access learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships.

You will play an important role in creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where children can learn through play, explore their interests and achieve their individual developmental goals.

Working closely with our team, families and other professionals, you will help ensure that children with additional needs are fully included in nursery life and given the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

What You Will Be Doing

Providing high-quality, inclusive care and education for children aged 0–5.

Supporting children with SEND, adapting activities and experiences to meet their individual needs.

Helping to identify children's strengths, interests and areas for development.

Contributing to individual support plans and working alongside the SENCO.

Using play-based learning to encourage communication, independence, social interaction and emotional development.

Building warm, trusting relationships with children and their families.

Working in partnership with parents, carers and external professionals to provide consistent support.

Observing, assessing and supporting children's progress in line with the EYFS.

Ensuring every child feels a sense of belonging and can participate meaningfully in all aspects of nursery life.

What We Are Looking For

A recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare.

Previous experience supporting children with SEND and additional needs.

A good understanding of the EYFS and inclusive early years practice.

Patience, empathy, flexibility and a positive, solution-focused approach.

Confidence in adapting provision to meet individual children's needs.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers, develop confidence and achieve their potential.

Above all, we want someone who sees the child first, recognises their abilities and possibilities, and is committed to ensuring that every child belongs.

The Details

Position: Level 3 Nursery Practitioner – SEND Experience

Location: Chipmunks Nursery OSC Ltd, Telford, TF3 1LG

Hours: Full-time, 42.5 hours per week

Salary: £12.80–£13.50 per hour, depending on experience

Start date: As soon as possible

An enhanced DBS check and appropriate safeguarding checks will be required in line with our safer recruitment procedures.
