What they need

What do you believe children need most from the adults around them?

At Tiny Tots, our answer begins with relationships. Adults who notice, listen and respond. People who help children feel safe, valued and confident enough to explore.

We are looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner who shares this approach and wants to bring their care, ideas and curiosity to our team.

Life at Tiny Tots

Our ethos centres on living relationships: children’s connections with people, nature and the world around them. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we see children as capable, curious learners whose ideas deserve to be heard and explored.

Our learning unfolds through quests, sparked by children’s interests, questions or the changing seasons. A discovery in the garden, a conversation or the first signs of autumn can lead to a shared investigation. Through play, nature, stories and creative expression, we help children explore their ideas and deepen their understanding.

You might find us investigating what trees give the world, growing and harvesting food or exploring the woodland. We notice what captures children’s attention and consider where their curiosity might lead next.

We bring the same care to everyday routines. Welcoming a child, sharing a meal and helping them settle are opportunities to build trust and belonging.

Our approach to emotional development begins with the adult. We support children through their feelings with calm, responsive care, helping them develop self regulation through connection, co regulation and understanding.

Your role

As part of our team, you will:

  • Build secure, trusting relationships with children and work closely with their families.
  • Provide responsive care that respects each child’s needs, routines and individuality.
  • Notice children’s interests and use your observations to contribute to quests and develop their learning.
  • Create inviting spaces for play, enquiry and creative expression.
  • Take an active part in outdoor learning and nature play.
  • Support children’s emotional development with patience, empathy and clear guidance.
  • Work with colleagues and families to include and support children with additional needs.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, safe practice and accurate record keeping.

Who we are looking for

You will hold a full and relevant early years qualification at Level 3 or higher, with a sound understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding.

We want someone who is warm, dependable and curious about how children learn. Someone who listens, contributes ideas and reflects honestly on their practice.

You should enjoy getting outdoors, working closely with colleagues and building respectful relationships with families.

You do not need previous experience of a Reggio inspired approach, but you should be interested in learning and exploring it with us.

Hours and start date

Full time and part time opportunities are available. Part time hours will be concentrated within your agreed working days.

Our nursery is open from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.

We are recruiting for a November 2026 start, with induction days arranged during October.

How to apply

Please apply with your CV and a short introduction telling us what matters most to you about working with young children.

Our first step is a visit and a conversation. Come and meet the team, explore our nursery and see how our ethos shapes everyday life at Tiny Tots. We want to understand what you would bring to our team and give you the opportunity to decide whether Tiny Tots feels like the right place for you.

Tiny Tots Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and the required recruitment checks.
