Nursery Specialist

Co-op Supply is looking for Nursery Specialists to join our nursery team! We are looking to fill a full-time position in our Nursery/Garden Center department in our Marysville store location. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is high energy and can handle a fast-paced environment through busy seasons during spring and summer. The successful person in this position will be self-motivated, proactive, energetic, and willing to support all members of our team at Co-op Supply.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

This Nursery specialist position includes but not limited to customer service, assist customers with garden questions both in-store & over the phone, moving & arranging plants, maintaining displays and signage, unloading trucks, pricing products, water plants, pruning, counting, and typical general nursery maintenance as well as administrative tasks when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver excellent customer service assisting customers with garden questions both in-store & over the phone.
• Support Nursery Lead in daily care and maintenance of plants.
• Assist where directed in purchasing, receiving, pricing and displaying of live plants and related garden supplies.
• Follow all Co-op Safety standards.
• Maintain open constructive communication with Nursery Lead and all Co-op staff.
• Perform duties of a cashier as assigned and when needed by a customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous horticulture and retail nursery experience preferred
• Plant identification knowledge & understanding of wide range of plants including knowledge of our plants in the Pacific Northwest is essential
• Daily plant care and maintenance
• Excellent Customer Service skills and communication
• Retail cashier experience
• Ability to multi-task and attention to details
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule Monday thru Sunday
• Ability to work independently and a team player
• POS experience is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work standing, sitting, bend consistently, kneeling for long periods of time
• Pushing, pulling up to 50lbs frequently: Carts loaded and unloaded with plants
• Garden hoses when watering. As needed for other tasks
• Stand/Walk 8+ hours a day
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs frequently, 30lbs occasionally, 50lbs, seldom
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Reports to Store Manager but receives direction and works closely with Nursery Manager.
