Nursery Teacher

Provides care, supervision, and support for infants and young children in a daycare, nursery, or early childhood setting. They create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes children's physical, emotional, social, and developmental growth. Nursery workers assist with daily routines, educational activities, meals, hygiene needs, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of infants and young children
• Assist with feeding, diaper changing, and personal hygiene needs
• Plan and participate in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
• Support children's emotional, social, and developmental growth
• Observe and report children's progress, behavior, and any concerns to supervisors or parents
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment
• Follow health, safety, and childcare regulations and procedures
• Assist children during naps, meals, and daily routines
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff members

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, compassion, and a caring attitude toward children
• Ability to multitask and supervise multiple children safely
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
• Pass a CCCBC Background check
• Complete childcare continuing education classes
• Complete Basic first aid and CPR certification
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow childcare policies and procedures
