Pay: £10.85 to £15.00 per hour, depending on age, qualifications and experience

Hours: Part-time, term-time only (up to 21.25 hours per week)

Contract: Casual / Zero-hours initially, with potential for part-time contracted hours

About the Role

Rising Stars Activities is looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our nursery wraparound team in a primary school based in Primrose Hill.

We welcome applications from both qualified and unqualified candidates aged 17 and above who have a genuine interest in working with young children.

You will help provide a safe, caring and enjoyable environment for children aged 2–5 during our breakfast and after-school sessions.

This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, whether you already have an Early Years qualification or are looking to gain further experience in childcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children through play and age-appropriate activities.
• Support children's daily routines, including snacks, meals, toileting and personal care.
• Help create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and social development.
• Assist with setting up and tidying away activities and equipment.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure children are happy, safe and well cared for.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and childcare procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Applicants must be aged 17 or over.
• Some experience caring for or working with young children, whether through employment, volunteering or similar experience.
• A friendly, patient and caring approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude.
• A willingness to undertake relevant training.

An Early Years Level 2 qualification or above is desirable but not essential. Unqualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants will be required to complete the relevant safeguarding and suitability checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

Working Hours

Sessions operate Monday to Friday during school term time:

• Breakfast Club: 7:45am – 9:00am
• After-School Club: 3:00pm – 6:00pm

Up to 21.25 hours per week may be available, depending on bookings and staffing requirements. Minimum hours are not guaranteed.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can work both morning and afternoon sessions throughout the week.
