Nursing Assistant

Job Summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and reliable Nursing Assistant to support patients with daily care needs and assist nurses with routine clinical duties. The ideal candidate will be attentive, respectful, and committed to maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and safety in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Help patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers according to care instructions.
• Measure and record vital signs as assigned and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and other daily living activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe patient rooms and care areas.
• Observe patient comfort and report changes in condition to the nursing team.
• Support nurses with routine patient-care tasks within the authorized scope of practice.
• Follow infection prevention, hand hygiene, and patient-safety procedures.
• Respect patient privacy, confidentiality, and individual care preferences.
• Document assigned care activities accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, if required for the position.
• Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain it as required.
• Previous patient-care or healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and attentive approach to patient care.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with patient movement safely.
• Availability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays when scheduled.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
