Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with tasks like catheter care or wound dressing changes.
• Help transfer patients safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other patient transfer methods while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff, ensuring timely intervention.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical documentation.
• Participate in infection control practices and assist with maintaining a clean, safe environment following standard precautions.

Requirements

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
• Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR).
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) systems for documentation purposes.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary while following safe lifting practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
