Nursing Assistant

A Nursing Assistant (also known as a Nurse Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA) provides core, hands-on patient care and daily living support under the supervision of licensed nurses (RNs or LPNs). [1, 2]Core Responsibilities

• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients bathe, dress, groom, use the restroom, and maintain personal hygiene. [1]

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Training and Certification: Completion of a state-approved or accredited nursing assistant training program and passing a competency exam (yielding CNA status where required).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand for long shifts, and safely reposition patients.
