Summary The NAII is responsible for administering direct patient care and performing other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care services. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Ensures that contacts with other health care members is friendly helpful and courteous.

Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of North Carolina (NC) Board of Nursing approved Nursing Assistant course.

Professional Experience Requirement

• None required.

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

• Certified by the N. C. State Board of Nursing as a NAII. Certified by the N. C. Department of Facility Services as a NAI. BCLS Certification.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Requirements

• Good interpersonal, communication and observation skills are essential. Understanding of patient care needs according to developmental stages for various age groups.
