Nursing Educator

General Responsibility

• Adhere and comply with Organization Regulations and Administrative Policies.
• Adhere and comply with policies and procedures related to patient care, infection control, patient safety and accreditation standard.

Training and Education

• Identify the training needs of staff and formulate a training plan in consultation with the NS & DNS.
• Create an environment that fosters professional growth by teaching learning activities.
• Participate and contribute in scheduled in service training programs like ACLS, BLS,PALS,NALS(If applicable), CNEs, conferences etc.,
• Ensure that individual training hours, training outcomes are recorded appropriately as per the prescribed guidelines.
• Coordinate with the stakeholders in arranging classes & clinical teaching activities for the newly joined and existing staff in the department.
• Maintain a training matrix and periodically review the same for further improvement.
• Assure appropriate education and continuing professional development of the unit staff.
• Facilitate staff participation in all relevant educational program,
• Upgrade knowledge as per current clinical evidences and guidelines and participate in In-service training programs like ACLS, BLS, CNEs, conferences etc.,

Quality Management

• Comply with all quality standard as decided by organization for patient safety and quality of care.
• Follow international patient safety goals.
• Report all near miss, sentinel events and any other incidents.
• Maintain patients privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.

Other Responsibilities

• In addition to the above, be proactive in taking up any additional responsibility, be it clinical or non-clinical on a need basis as and when such situation arises.

Candidate Requirements

Education: Diploma / Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in nursing.

Registration: Valid registration in the State Nursing Council from where B.Sc. Nursing / GNM was completed.
