NURSING HOME NURSE

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Home Nurse to join our aged care team at Meadow Care group. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As a Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our nursing team and providing essential care to elderly residents in our facility. This position is crucial to ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of support and comfort during their time with us.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting registered nurses with the provision of direct patient care to elderly residents
• Supporting residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Monitoring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature and pulse
• Assisting with mobility and transferring residents safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for residents, including changing linens and sanitising common areas
• Responding promptly to resident requests and call bells
• Providing emotional support and companionship to residents to promote their wellbeing
• Assisting with feeding and hydration support for residents who require assistance
• Reporting any changes in resident condition or concerns to the nursing team immediately
• Supporting the maintenance of accurate and timely care records

What we're looking for

• A caring and compassionate approach with a genuine passion for working with elderly individuals
• Formal training or certification as a Nursing employee or equivalent qualification recognised in Malaysia
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team under the supervision of registered nurses
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
• Physical capability to assist with patient mobility and personal care tasks
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
• Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training programmes
• Previous experience working in an aged care or healthcare setting is highly desirable

Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution
• Valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Previous experience in elderly care or nursing home settings is an advantage.
