Summary:

The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner at St. Joseph’s Hospital-South supports the Emergency Room (ER), Emergency Department Observation Unit (EDOU), and Administrators on Duty (AODs) . This role develops and leads education that strengthens clinical competency, evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, and professional growth across these teams.

Your Role Within the Team:

• Develop and evaluate education that supports clinical excellence and professional development
• Facilitate orientation, onboarding, and ongoing competency development
• Serve as a resource for evidence-based practice, clinical education, and emergency nursing care
• Partner with nursing leaders to support patient safety, quality improvement, and practice advancement
• Provide guidance on competencies, certification opportunities, and professional development
• Promote engagement, lifelong learning, and continuous practice improvement
• Perform Registered Nurse functions and other duties as assigned, as needed

Qualifications Required

• BSN with 3 years of clinical experience
• Clinical nursing experience in Emergency Nursing or Emergency Department Observation,

Preferred

• Professional organization certification
• ANPD certification
• Emergency and/or observation nursing experience
• Previous education, preceptor, mentoring, or leadership experience
