Nurture Assistant

We are recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive specialist setting in Louth, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. A key focus within the setting is the delivery of a nurture-based approach, recognising that positive relationships, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of belonging are fundamental to successful learning. Staff work closely with pupils to build confidence, resilience, communication skills, and independence, ensuring individual needs are met through personalised support and tailored learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote emotional wellbeing using nurture principles, helping pupils develop self-esteem, social skills, resilience, and positive relationships.
• Support pupils who may experience anxiety, communication difficulties, sensory needs, or challenges with emotional regulation.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions focused on academic progress, social development, emotional wellbeing, and life skills.
• Assist with the delivery of differentiated learning activities, adapting resources and approaches to meet individual learning styles and abilities.
• Use a range of supportive strategies, including visual resources, structured routines, sensory tools, and positive behaviour approaches to maintain engagement in learning.
• Monitor pupil engagement, progress, and wellbeing, feeding back observations to the wider staff team as required.

Pre Reqs:

• Experience working with children or young people within education, SEND, care, youth work, residential support, mentoring, coaching, childcare, or similar settings.
• Understanding of the importance of nurturing relationships and how emotional wellbeing can impact learning and development.
• Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities, with the ability to adapt support to meet a range of individual needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with social, emotional, communication, or learning needs would be highly beneficial.
• Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Childcare, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or equivalent transferable experience.

Pay: £90.00-£100.00 per day
