Nutanix AHV Virtualization Engineer

We are currently looking for a Nutanix AHV Virtualization Engineer to strengthen the Cronos Europa team.

As a member of the infrastructure team, you will play a key role in the transition from existing virtualization platforms to a Nutanix AHV-based infrastructure .

You will contribute to the design, build and implementation phases in close collaboration with engineering teams, while ensuring the transition to operations and lifecycle management of the platform.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of Nutanix AHV clusters.
• Participate in the migration strategy from existing virtualization platforms to AHV.
• Prepare and validate infrastructure prerequisites, including network, storage and hardware.
• Support deployment activities, including cluster creation, configuration and validation.
• Define and implement best practices for AHV adoption.
• Work closely with infrastructure engineering teams across compute, network, storage and security.
• Contribute to architecture design decisions and technical validation.
• Align with engineering standards, reference architectures and security requirements.
• Operate and maintain Nutanix AHV clusters once deployed.
• Manage Prism Element and Prism Central.
• Perform lifecycle management activities, including upgrades, patching and compatibility checks.
• Ensure high availability, performance and resilience of workloads.
• Manage VM lifecycle activities, including snapshots, backup integration and performance tuning.
• Configure Nutanix storage, including AOS and containers.
• Implement replication and backup strategies and support disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Develop automation workflows using Ansible, REST APIs and scripting.
• Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code and standardisation efforts.
• Automate provisioning and operational processes.
• Integrate the platform with enterprise observability tools.
• Apply security best practices and contribute to secure configuration baselines and compliance with internal standards.

Technical skills:

• Strong expertise in Nutanix AHV .
• Strong knowledge of the Nutanix ecosystem: AOS, Prism Element, Prism Central and LCM operations .
• Solid understanding of virtualization concepts, including compute, storage and networking .
• Experience with infrastructure build and migration projects.
• Experience with Ansible, REST APIs and scripting .
• Understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery principles.
• Knowledge of replication, backup and disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter is considered a strong asset, particularly in migration contexts.
• Experience with platform lifecycle operations, including patching, upgrades, backups, certificate renewal and disaster recovery, is an asset.

Profile:

• 4+ years of experience in virtualization and infrastructure engineering.
• Proven hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV in project or production environments is mandatory.
• Experience in infrastructure build and migration projects, ideally involving a transition to Nutanix AHV.
• Ability to work in close collaboration with engineering teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication and collaboration skills
