A1 Electrical Contractors Limited is seeking a NZ Registered Electrician to join our dynamic team in Dunedin. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of electrical projects across the region. As a NZ Registered Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems predominantly in residential and commercial settings. This role is integral to our operations, allowing us to continue delivering high-quality electrical services to our valued clients whilst ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission electrical systems and equipment in accordance with New Zealand electrical standards and regulations
• Perform maintenance and repair work on existing electrical installations to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective solutions efficiently and professionally
• Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to verify compliance with relevant codes and standards
• Prepare accurate documentation, including job reports, safety records, and maintenance logs
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required, adhering to all health and safety protocols
• Liaise with clients, supervisors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to specification
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and manage stock levels of materials
• Stay current with industry best practices and participate in ongoing professional development

What we're looking for

• Current NZ Registration as an Electrician with the relevant electrical registration authority
• Proven experience working as an electrician in residential and commercial environments
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice and relevant standards
• Competency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel across the Dunedin and wider Otago region
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Commitment to health and safety practices and procedures
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various environmental conditions
• Experience with renewable energy systems or energy-efficient technologies would be an advantage.
