Observability Engineer (Freelance)

Experience: 5+ years

Location: Spain (hiring across the EU)

Contract Type: Freelance (3–4 months)

Mandatory: Spanish fluency (at least B1 level)

We are looking for an Observability Engineer to lead the implementation of the observability strategy for critical applications, ensuring the monitoring, availability, and performance of services.

Dynatrace will be the primary observability tool, so previous experience with the platform will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end monitoring for applications and services.
• Configure dashboards, alerts, and business metrics using Dynatrace.
• Monitor applications, APIs, microservices, and infrastructure.
• Analyze incidents and collaborate on troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Define and track KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs.
• Work closely with development teams to improve observability throughout the application lifecycle.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Document observability standards and best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Production Support, or Observability environments.
• Experience working with monitoring and observability tools.
• Functional or advanced user-level knowledge of Dynatrace.
• Experience monitoring web applications, APIs, and distributed architectures.
• Solid knowledge of Linux and application troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or containerized platforms.
• Ability to work with metrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
