Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan medical surveillance programme for the Operation with and signed off by Occupational Health Medical Practitioner(OMP).

• Conduct pre-employment medicals according to relevant legal prescriptions, work risk factors and health profile of individual employees. Conduct exit medicals to detect and exclude possible occupational diseases related to occupational exposure.

• Report all injuries on duty and any occupational injuries to the Compensation Commissioner.

• Conduct multidisciplinary health risk and occupational injury assessments.

• Ensure processes are in place to prioritize and triage patients in the event of an emergency, including roles of first aiders and emergency response staff

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Diploma in General Nursing /Occupational Health (Compulsory)

• Dispensing Course Certificate and dispensing license (Compulsory)

• At least 2years Occupational Health experience

• Registered with SA Nursing Council

• Experience in a manufacturing environment (Advantageous)

• Microsoft Office suite –Intermediate level

• Verbal, numeracy and written skills
